The Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) provides various platforms to make it easier for businesses to renew their licenses. Now, they can also do so via SSM's EzBiz Online.

With the government's latest assistance package, PEMERKASA+, SSM is waiving late fees to renew business licenses of SMEs, micro-enterprises, sole proprietorships and partnerships until December 31, 2021.

Wondering how to renew your business licence online? Here's how.

 

How to register your account at EzBiz

  1. Go to ezbiz.ssm.com.my/

  2. Press the 'Sign Up' button and fill in your IC No. and Full Name, just as written in your IC.

  3. Make sure to fill in the necessary information marked *. 

  4. Tick the Declaration box, and click Save.

  5. EzBiz will send a notification to your email with a reference number.

 

How to activate your EzBiz account online (during MCO)

  1. Go to ezbiz.ssm.com.my/ and sign in with your registered account.

  2. Click User Profile and select User Verification Request.

  3. Click Add New.

  4. You will now need to attach or upload the following documents:

    1. A copy of your Identity Card, front and back;

    2. A photo or a selfie of you with the IC held at neck level. 

    3. An official document such as driver's licence, birth certificate, utility bill with your name on it, and make sure it's under the Supporting Document section.  


      1. Make sure to upload these documents to verify and activate your account.

    4. IMPORTANT: Make sure the document size is not over 3MB. File format must be either JPEG or PDF.

  5. Make sure all documents attached are clear and legible for verification. 

  6. You will receive an email saying your Ezbiz ID has been activated.

 

How to renew your business registration via EzBiz as the owner

  1. Go to ezbiz.ssm.com.my/ and sign in with your registered account. Make sure you also fill in the Verification Code displayed.

  2. Click My Business Services, and click Renewal by Owners.

  3. Select your business that is listed, and under the Action tab, click this button:

  4. If you're paying for any compound, tick the box on Compound Amount.

  5. Select "YES" or "NO" for business info.

  6. Select the renewal period, from 1 to 5 years. 

  7. Tick the Declaration box.

  8. Click "Proceed to Payment" and get ready for the payment process.

 

How to renew business registration on EzBiz if you're not the owner

  1. Go to ezbiz.ssm.com.my/ and sign in with your registered account. Make sure you also fill in the Verification Code displayed.

  2. Click My Business Services, and click Renewal by Others.

  3. Fill in the business registration number under the Business No section and click Search

  4. If you're paying for any compound, tick the box on Compound Amount.

  5. Select "YES" or "NO" for business info.

  6. Select renewal period, from 1 to 5 years. 

  7. Tick the Declaration box.

  8. Click "Proceed to Payment" and get ready for the payment process.

 

How to download business information and certificate

  1. Go to ezbiz.ssm.com.my/ and sign in with your registered account.

  2. Click My Business Services, and click Renewal History.

  3. The system will show a list of applications you have made.

  4. Click the button below on the renewal application that you want to download. 

  5. The system will show your application information that has been approved. 

  6. Click Download Certificate and Download Business Info.

Keep in mind that you need to download the business info and certificate 14 days from the day your application was approved. 

The Download Business Info is only available if there was any purchase of info made during the application. 

 

How much are the fees?

  1. New business registration:

    1. Personal Name = RM30.00 per year

    2. Trade Name = RM60.00 per year

  2. Change of business particulars = RM20.00

    1. Branch(s) = RM5 per year for each branch

  3. Business termination

    1. No fee is required

  4. Business renewal

    1. Personal Name = RM30.00 per year

    2. Trade Name = RM60.00 per year

    3. Branch(s) = RM5.00 per year for each branch

  5. Business information = RM10.00

 

What is the mode of payment?

You can make an online payment via:

  • Credit card, and
  • FPX (Financial Process Exchange - Online banking)
