The Retail Industry Vaccination Program (RiVAC) is one of the government's initiatives to accelerate the vaccination process among retail sector workers to help achieve 80% herd immunity in Malaysia. The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) will coordinate the RiVAC program.

1. Who can participate in the RiVAC programme?

All industry players and workers in the retail sector under KPDNHEP's supervision are eligible and encouraged to participate in this programme.

2. How to participate in the RiVAC programme?

Companies and employers interested in receiving the vaccine under RiVAC can apply through the KPDNHEP's website: https://rov.kpdnhep.gov.my/rov.

KPDNHEP will only process completed forms and submit them to CITF for assessment.

3. What types of vaccines will be provided?

4. When will RiVAC begin?

The programme will begin on July 26, 2021. Interested companies should submit information to KPDNHEP ASAP for coordination purposes.

5. If the employer has no place to set up a vaccination centre, can they participate in RiVAC at a nearby vaccination centre?

Yes, KPDNHEP will assist the company in obtaining the vaccine at the nearest industry vaccination centre (PPVIN) after the applicant's registration is approved.

7. Does a company representative need to be present during the employee vaccination registration session?

Yes, the company representative will need to handle the employee registration at the registration counter.

8. What documents need to be brought during the vaccination appointment at PPVIN?

  • Local workers will need to bring an Identity Card and employee card/pass during the appointment date.

  • Foreign workers will need to bring their Identification document (Passport) and employee card/pass.

9. If my employee has previously registered for a vaccine program, can they still participate in RiVAC?

If the employee has previously registered under the opt-in program for the AstraZeneca vaccine, they are not eligible for RiVAC.

Employees who have registered for the second or third phase of the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) through MySejahtera are still eligible to participate in RiVAC.

10. What are the criteria for a worker to be eligible to be registered as a recipient of this covid-19 vaccine?

  • 18 years old and above,

  • Agree to receive this vaccine voluntarily,

  • Never received any Covid-19 vaccine injections,

  • Not Covid-19 positive or close contact status on the day of the vaccination appointment,

  • For workers with a positive history of Covid-19 infection, they will only receive the first dose three months after the infection date.

11. How much does the fee cost under RiVAC?

The government provides vaccines free of charge. However, as RiVAC is based on the public-private partnership, the organiser will charge administrative costs for PPVIN operators. These are the rates under RiVAC:
