5 Advanteges of SSM online

As a business owner, registering with SSM is crucial, especially for small businesses starting out. Registering offers numerous benefits for your business:

1. Legal Recognition: SSM registration establishes your business as a legal entity, complying with the Registration of Businesses Act 1956, which mandates income-generating businesses to register.

2. Enhanced Trustworthiness: In an era where online scams are prevalent, having an SSM number lends credibility to your business, fostering trust among customers, particularly in online transactions.

3. Access to Current Accounts: Registering with SSM enables you to apply for a current account dedicated to your business. This segregation of accounts helps distinguish personal and business finances, preventing potential freezing of personal accounts due to suspicion of business-related transactions.

4. Access to Business Assistance and Loans: Being a registered business owner grants you access to a range of government benefits and facilities. Additionally, the government can utilize accurate data from registrations to implement development programs and support initiatives for small traders and business owners. Some of the assistance available includes:

  •  Business insurance for protection;

  • Credit facilities;

  • Training courses;

  • Maintenance benefits for business premises;

  • Others

5. Affordable Registration Fees: Registering your business with SSM comes at a relatively low cost, typically less than RM60 per year. This eliminates concerns about potential fines of up to RM50,000 or imprisonment for two years due to non-registration.
