Ever wonder how some people wake up every morning excited to go to work? Why some people can achieve career success, while others keep struggling? Here's the secret of successful people who LOVE their jobs: they're good at these 4 things:

1. They Know their Top Priority

How do you know where to go if you don't know where you're going? It's easy to get distracted or confused by all the urgent and important things around us, but by identifying and serving our topmost priority, we will know which tasks are actually the most important and beneficial to us. With this knowledge becoming our guiding star, we will remain aware of the ultimate purpose of our work, and be able to grow our career.

2. They Prioritize who they Work with

Not only should work tasks be prioritised; who you work with is important too! During your work day, many colleagues from your team or from other departments may come to you for help, but as the saying goes: you can't please everyone. Consider both the importance of the task and the role of the person requesting it of you, don't say "yes" to every ask that comes your way. Knowing when to say "No" is key to your work satisfaction.

3. They Find a Way to Combine Passion and Skills

When we do something that we love, it's no longer 'work' but a passion - we'll go the etxra mile when we truly care about something. In most cases, we have the skills but lack the driving emotions that turn a good work into a great work. Just like falling in love, it takes time and effort to maintain but if you manage to combine both, you've got a brilliant and joyful career ahead of you.

4. They Don’t Force themselves into a Career

If you have the privilege of choosing what jobs or career you do, don't choose based on what others think you should do. The opinion and advice of your parents, your spouse or partner, your lecturer, and your friends are valuable but don't let them define your career path. On the other hand, if you decided you don't like the career you've chosen, take steps to either change it or mold it towards the direction you want.

The above steps seems simple enough, but they're certainly not easy to do. Get these 4 things right and you'll work better and happier, and be well on the path to achieve the career success you desire.
