Today, Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin announced the ease of restrictions for those who have received the required doses of the Covid-19 vaccine. 

Here are the measures for the fully vaccinated:

 

Requirements for fully vaccinated people:

  • Those who are fully vaccinated must show their digital vaccination certificate as proof at roadblocks and inspections. You can find the digital vaccination certificate in the profile section of the MySejahtera app.

  • Fully vaccinated persons are defined as someone who has received both doses of the Covid-19 vaccines for over 14 days, including AstraZeneca, Pfizer and Sinovac vaccines.

  • For those who receive single-dose vaccines such as CanSino and Johnson & Johnson, the waiting period is 28 days after receiving the vaccine. Then, they will be considered fully vaccinated. 

 

Measures that apply for entire Malaysia, regardless of the National Recovery Plan (NRP) phases:

  1. Overseas travellers who are returning to the country may quarantine at home, provided that they have a home in Malaysia. 

  2. Cross-district and cross-state travel are allowed for long-distance spouses who are fully vaccinated.

  3. Cross-district and cross-state travel are also allowed for fully vaccinated parents visiting their children aged under 18.

  4. Fully vaccinated people are allowed to pray at places of worship, subject to precautions. 

COVID 19 vaccination
Those who receive AstraZeneca, Pfizer and Sinovac vaccines must ensure they get both doses of the vaccines.

Phase 1 states

As of today, these are the states that are still under Phase 1 of the NRP: 

  • Selangor, 

  • Kuala Lumpur, 

  • Negeri Sembilan, 

  • Kedah, 

  • Johor,

  • Malacca, and 

  • Putrajaya.

 

Measures for Phase 2 states and beyond:

  1. Interdistrict travel is allowed for fully vaccinated people.

  2. Tourism within the same state is also allowed.

  3. Fully vaccinated people can now dine in at eateries and restaurants.

  4. Fully vaccinated people can exercise outdoors from 6 am to 10 pm as long as they follow the social distancing rules. 

 

Phase 2 and 3 states:

As of now, these are the states under phase 2 and beyond: 

  • Phase 2: Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Perak, Pulau Pinang and Sabah.

  • Phase 3: Perlis, Sarawak, and Wilayah Persekutuan Labuan.

 

When will these new rules take place?

Muhyiddin announced that these rules would take place starting August 10 (Tuesday).

The prime minister said he would announce the details of the measures and further ease of restriction for the economic sector soon.
